Qualifications:
Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list; OR Transfer Opportunity:
Candidates must have permanent status as an Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding, Grade 6, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.

In order to be eligible for 70.
1 transfer, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 6 level.

In the event there is not valid list you may be qualified for a provisional appointment.
There is no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.
Prior to being considered for appointment, you will be required to pass a keyboarding test that demonstrates your ability to enter text at a rate of at least 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.
If you are appointed provisionally, you must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed.
If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Office Assistant 1 (OA1) provides office and clerical support to the Family Care department.
The Family care department provides residential services to the some Individuals at OPWDD Hudson Valley DDSOO, who reside in homes that are certified to provide 24-hour residential services.
The OA1 will be reporting to the Family Care Treatment Team Leader (TTL).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the OA1 are:
to provide office and clerical work to the Family Care Department Track and enter all billing data for each individual.
Track and enter all admissions, movements, deaths, and discharges from residence.
Track and submit Family Care providers mileage.
Close out all medical and/or active records and prepare them to be delivered to HIM department.
Maintain all Family Care tracking sheets (training, certification, recertification, etc.
).
Maintain updated records in TABS.
Answer main Family Care phone line, take messages, and remind Family Care Providers & Sub providers on any upcoming events.
Assist with uploading documents as needed.
Access to CHOICES.
TABS support to Region 4 Family Care department.
Support and assist with organization of HIM record archives.
Provide Clerical assistance.
Complete minutes for Family Care administrative meetings and Family Care advisory meetings.
Track and mail out all certification and recertification packets for all Family Care providers.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments PLEASE NOTE SALARY:
The posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for ISU Grade 6 ($34,152), along with any special salary treatments in effect for this position in this location, such as a Downstate Adjustment ($3,087).
The posted maximum salary (Job Rate of $42,251) includes the previously Downstate Adjustment.
